The word "MERCY" is mentioned over 250 times in the Bible (Source: NKJV); and we know that when it comes to Mercy, God's Word focuses on 2 types of Mercy - Corporal & Spiritual.
But before we explore the 2 Biblical types - and then what God's Word mentions about Mercy - the word mercy is defined in a few core ways:

- Jesus tells us in the 5th Beatitude - Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
- The Holy Spirit is the fountain of mercy; the love & mercy of God personified.
- And over and over again, God shows His Mercy in countless Biblical accounts, lessons & testimonies.

In the NKJV Bible there are a handful of Chapters that DO NOT mention Mercy: Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Kings, Esther, Ecclesiastics, Song of Songs, Lamentations, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Zephaniah, Haggai, Malachi, John, Acts of the Apostles, Colossians, 1 Thessolonians, 2 Thessolonians, Philemon, 2 Peter, 1 John, 3 John, & Revelations; and the Book of Psalms has the most mentions of Mercy - 100 times.

The Beatitudes

Exodus 25:17 - “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width.

Leviticus 16:2 - and the Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.
Leviticus 16:13 - And he shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die.
