To the Faith-filled, Faith-full, Faithful!!
Deliberately & intentionally, back on August 14th - we decided to delve deep and delve diligently into the Book of Proverbs.
Nothing was said, announced, no great fanfare or indicators. Just a simple "deciding & doing." Action only. No words. Just doing. A simple move, nudge, "lean in whisper," "still, small voice prompting," if you will, that #rightNow is the right time, the best time, #onTime time. For it is Proverbs season. Right now. Right now. RIGHT NOW.
And so we are. Obediently listening AND taking action, instruction, leading. Making it happen in a #rightNow #thisIsTheSeason #theTimeIsNow timeframe. We looked through each & every post prior to Aug. 14th - Proverbs 3 (3.7.20) ; 3:3-33 (10.23.20) ; 4:5-7 (6.1.21) ; 8 (1.7.21) ; 10 (4.20.20) ; 16:10-33 (8.10.21) ; 17 (4.29.20) ; 18:13-19 (1.30.18) ; and 22 (10.20.18); created a chart; mapped out a plan; and then set out to intentionally & eagerly, mindfully & consistently post #ScriptureReflection's only from the "Book of Proverbs."
The goal being that by September 30, 2021 - the entire Book of Proverbs would be posted.
And here we are. October 1, 2021. And we have done just that, insofar as every post being from Proverbs. Every #ScriptureReflection has intentionally come from the Book of Proverbs. For weeks and weeks we have shimmer & sparkled & #shinedBright in this amazing book. Yet, there are still more chapters in the Book of Proverbs to explore. We are not done, yet! Thus, we will continue. Until every chapter and verse is represented, shared, loved and enjoyed.
Proverbs is such a rich Biblical Book. Proverbs true Hebrew name is "Mishle" and the primary purpose of this book is to teach us wisdom. Wisdom is such an important trait. And in our modern day "religiousity," it is often overlooked and not always focused on or taught. But it is with - not just wisdom - but God's Wisdom, that we, as His Children, can truly discern His Will & His Way; that we can hear "His Still Small Voice;" and hear, discern & learn His Purpose & His Path for our lives.
Often referred to as a "collection of collections," Proverbs/Mishle relates to a pattern of life that we should strive to - providing us examples of Biblical wisdom and Biblical literature. Proverbs/Mishle poses very specific questions - as well as instruction - on our values, morals, behavior, human life, right conduct, and more. The book is poetic like it's predecessor & counterpart, Psalms. Proverbs/Mishle is also instructional, inspirational and intentional; like 1st & 2nd Kings, Corinthians, Ephesians and many other Biblical books.
Now the word Proverb, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary, is:
pro·verb - /ˈprävərb/noun - a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice.
"A general truth or piece of advice...." yes & Amen! As we weaved through August, a few of you noted that we were steeped and spending time in the Book of Proverbs, and made mention of it.
